Located adjacent to the Kedron Brook and the Toombul Bus Interchange, the site has played an important role in the daily lives of the surrounding community. In recent years, significant flood events have impacted the site, affecting its ability to operate and highlighting the need for a more resilient approach to future development. The site now presents an opportunity for IRVINE to rethink and revitalise Toombul - creating a place that responds to its history while better supporting the needs of the community into the future.
The proposal for Toombul brings together a revitalised shopping centre, new public spaces and improved connections to create a more open, accessible and community focused destination. Designed to support both everyday needs and social activity, the precinct integrates retail, dining and green spaces within a walkable and easy-to-navigate environment. While residential offerings are proposed for the site, the primary focus remains on delivering the retail shopping centre.
